Russia Project
Bible Society Russia and Kindness International are leading 147 million people from a darkened chapter of their past to a future of of faith and Christianity. Some 15 years ago many Russians would have considered themselves athiests - with the end of communism came the end of communist morals. The country had lost its way. Today God is using his word to reshape the country’s very foundations - starting with its youth.
There is unprecedented access from the Russian government to use the Bible as the key textbook in every school and university. Students and teachers of Russia and The Ukraine are turning to the Bible and through its pages embarking on a journey of Christianity - powerful faith that’s life changing.

Our support
Since 2006 BSQ has been supporting the work of Kindness International by helping to provide Bibles for both their school work as well as at their many Camps throughout Russia and Ukraine. We see the Ministry of Kindness International as an amazing opportunity to give God’s Word to the once closed lands of Russia and The Ukraine.
Olga’s story
With the death of communism in 1991, Russia plunged into moral chaos, causing the authorities to scramble. Gone were the communist morals, ethics and ideologies which had been drilled into citizens’ minds since preschool. In response to the crisis, the Russian Minister of Education asked Dr Olga Lutsenko (an official with the Academy of Educational Sciences of the USSR) to research and make recommendations for teaching morals and ethics in Russian schools.
After looking at various educational models, Dr Olga and her colleagues found that a moral education would have to include biblical principals. As Dr Olga oversaw the development of this new plan in 1992, she was given a Bible which she read intently. She personally experienced the transforming power of God’s grace - Kindness International was born from these events.
