Local Projects

Here at home, there’s always plenty happening with the Bible Society. We are constantly seeking new and inventive ways to get the Bible into the hands, and hearts, of Aussies who haven’t had a life-changing encounter with God.

Schools

Schools visits will continue to be one of the primary ways that we are engaging with local Queenslanders. The multi-skilled team of team of presenters include schools workers Peter Blase, Tim Hazzard and Hannah Perrera. Racing Ute driver, Andrew Fisher, will also be joining this crew on some of their visits, sharing his time, his testimony, and of course, free Bibles with students.

Media

In the future, we will be seeking to expand our efforts into the technical world with both media and multimedia productions. Over the next two years we will be exploring this through the Godspeak and readthebook campaigns. Keep updated with their specific pages and websites to see how you can help share the Bible through one of the most easily accessible means – the media.

Bible Consultant

We believe firmly in the local church as the best vehicle for evangelism. We will be hiring a Bible consultant to work specifically in the area of churches, all in the aim to recharge a love for the Bible in the church so that we can, together, foster a love for it in wider plains.

Northern Territory and Outback Ministry

The Northern Territory and Outback Ministry (NTOM) continues to be an important aspect of the work of the Bible Society in Australia. BSQ is a strong supporter of this ministry. As well as developing effective ways of assisting remote communities with their Scripture needs, NTOM also seeks to support literacy, translation and engagement projects among Australia’s indigenous people.

One thing’s for sure - we couldn’t do any of this without your support. If you’re not already a Bible partner, please consider becoming one. We’ll keep you informed with the latest news and provide you with prayer guides and Bible study resources. And you help us keep giving others the tools to be informed by the Bible, in a form they find relevant and easy to read.
