Introducing the Bible Society’s work in Bolivia

When the decision was made to investigate the needs of Bolivia, we found a nation at the crossroads. Once a part of the ancient Incan empire, Bolivia is a country blessed with incredible mineral, agricultural and industrial wealth. And yet, 64% of the people live below the poverty line and 40% of all children are at risk of exploitation.

While most of the population considers itself to be Roman Catholic, a recent census discovered that few people actually attend church. There is wide-spread belief in God, but very little knowledge of him.

The General Secretary of Bible Society Bolivia, Roony Villalba I, put it this way: “Bolivia is living at a time of transition to socialism. You who love the Bible, who love God’s family, we need your help. We need your support. We cannot change Bolivia alone. Please help us with your prayers and with your donations so that Bolivia can be changed. God bless you.”
