Godspeak
You may have seen or heard the name ‘Godspeak’ around this page or in other materials that BSQ has been turning out over the past few years. That’s because we have already started this campaign. Actually we started it about five years ago with the youth website Godspeak.info This site has been incredibly popular because it creates a forum for young people to ask the big questions they might be afraid to ask out loud like ‘who is God?’ and ‘Can I trust the Bible?’
Five years on, it’s time to refresh, reboot and gain some new ground. So we’re starting where the success of this campaign began: the website. We’ve just upgraded, so check it out at Godspeak.org.au
We’re not stopping there though – not by a long shot, With Tim Hazzard joining us as full-time Secondary Schools Worker, we have a new voice helping people find this site, and hopefully, heard God speaking to them.
Godspeak.org.au has a three-pronged approach to reach its goal of young people hearing God speak:
- It’s evangelistic, answering the question, ‘Why should I believe in THIS God?’
- It’s apologetic, offering answers to ‘Is the Bible accurate?’ and ‘How is it relevant today?’
- And it deals with issues from a Christian worldview, accessing some of the finest thinkers around Generation Y/Z culture to engage with topics like identity, poverty and depression.
- The site features Hugh Evans (pictured), speaking on poverty, the Bible and the young generation of today.
Across schools and statewide events we will be promoting Godspeak.org.au. We will resource and equip chaplains, publish a quarterly magazine, print postcards, give away wristbands, plan a short film festival, endorse chaplaincy and give away as many Bibles as we possibly can. And that’s just 2008.
So keep checking in here at the BSQ site to see what’s happening with Godspeak, or even go straight to the site for yourself and get involved with this exciting campaign.
